Human trafficking survivors require healthcare that is trauma-informed and culturally sensitive to their needs. Coordination is needed between health providers and statutory and voluntary organizations. Attendees will be educated on the legal definition of sex trafficking, top 3 ways victims are recruited into sex trafficking, the impact of sex trafficking in Michigan, behavioral characteristics of victims, methods of grooming, and how traffickers control victims physically & psychologically.
