Holiday Dementia Care in St. Joseph

December 11 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

Men are caregivers too. Holidays are often filled with togetherness, sharing, and memories, but when one is caring for loved ones with dementia, these times can be stressful, disappointing, and sad. Wives, daughters, and daughters-in-law are often caregivers, but many men are as well. Statistically, more women contract dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. Many faithful husbands find themselves as the primary caregiver. Male Caregivers is offering “Navigating the Holiday with Dementia” on Thursday, December 11, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the St. Joseph Library, 500 Market St. in St. Joseph. Learn how to anticipate challenges, set realistic expectations, involve the person with dementia, and be prepared, safe, and flexible. RSVP to attend by calling 800.272.3900 or ntHourani@ALZ.org
