If you\nor someone you know\, needs a source of encouragement for Christmas this year they would love to help. \nTo apply for Project Christmas 2021: \nResidents of Wexford County can call 231-779-5205 or 231-468-3204 from 9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday\nuntil December 3rd. \nResidents of Missaukee County can call 231-839-8816 Monday through Friday 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. also until December 3rd. \nWhen you call please have the following ready: \nSocial Security numbers for all in the household. \nSources of income and supervisor’s name. \nMDHHS client number if you have one. ( you don’t need this to qualify for Project Christmas). \n \nOver the past 32 years\, more than $907\,966 in cash donations have been received as well as over $2\,687\,446 donated through drop boxes\, fundraisers\, grants\, food\, clothing\, etc. \nUsed good donations total $438\,249. Other in-kind things total $35\,570. This includes the Wex rental\, bags from Meijer\, dumpsters\, hats & mittens\, pajamas\, socks & underwear\, stuffed animals\, apples\, and other items. \nOver the years Project Christmas has served a total of 24\,247 families\, 81\,125 individuals with approximately 18\,024 volunteers leading the way. DESCRIPTION:Camp Sagola Camp Meeting will be held in-person this year!  \nCall (906) 282-9639 or email campsagola@gmail.com for more information on this event! \n  \nCamp Sagola Camp Meeting\n \nCamp History\nPurchased around 1960 by Elder LaVern Pomeroy\, then Superintendent of Michigan Conference’s Upper Peninsula Churches of District 1\, the property was sold a few years later to the Michigan Conference at cost. A hotel on an island in Lake Superior was dismantled\, transported to Sagola\, and reconstructed as a lodge. Camp Sagola serves as the Upper Peninsula center for youth camps\, the U.P. Camp Meeting\, and other U.P. events. The camp is now open year-round. \nInformation on Property and Camp Facilities\nThe camp is located north and west of Iron Mountain\, Michigan\, about three miles west of Sagola on Route 69 going toward Crystal Falls. There is a small yellow sign at the entrance. A road takes you through a farmer’s field for about 3/10 mile to the camp lodge parking lot. There are eleven cabins with heat and electricity. There are 12 camper sites with electricity but no sewer facilities. Tent sites are also available. There is also a centralized bath house. A new dock and boat house along with beach improvements have upgraded the lake front. The large auditorium has a capacity for about 400 people. \nCamp Programs and Special Features\nPrograms include Junior Camp (ages 8-12) and Youth Outpost (ages 13-16). The camps take place the last two weeks of July. Teen Snow Outing in February\, Men’s Retreat in early Spring\, Spring Retreat in May\, U.P. Camp Meeting in early August\, Women’s Retreat in September\, and a Fall Retreat in October. The camp also hosts other workshops\, seminars\, and meetings as well as Pathfinder events for the U.P. \nDirections to Camp\nTake Route 2 to Iron Mountain and continue until you are nearly out of the city heading toward Florence\, WI. At the intersection of U.S. 95\, turn right at the Republic and Sagola sign. Follow U.S. 95 about nine miles until U.S. 95 and Route 69 become one. Continue about six miles on the joint highways until you come to the Mobil station and Sagola mini-mart. Follow Route 69 as it turns left toward Crystal Falls. Continue for about three miles to the Camp Sagola sign on the right side of the road. DESCRIPTION:There is something special about live performances.  Seven years ago\, Tim Duman and Debbie Blosser planned a vespers program at the Mt Pleasant Seventh-day Adventist Church with the thought of inviting George Corliss and Strong Tower Radio to create an Old-Time Radio ambiance.  It did and STR Live Old Time Radio Variety Hour became a regular production of Strong Tower Radio.\n\nNo two variety hours are alike\, but they engender the best each participant can do to give glory to God.  The next one is July 17th\, 7:00 pm at the Edenville Seventh-day Adventist Church located at 6530 Sandy Ridge Dr. Hope\, MI 48628.\n\nVariety of ages\, talents\, people\, and instruments bring the beauty and interest to each program.  Edenville’s presentation includes a fife duet as well as a trumpet and euphonium duet. The Bright family will present several musicals. Also included are a variety of vocal numbers and a special story\, presented reader’s-theater style.\n\nOne interesting fact is Cheyenne sang her first solo at age four during our very first Strong Tower Radio Variety Hour. She joins us again for her second performance with us at Edenville.\n\nLive and in person is always the best!\nSave the date. Enjoy the evening with family and friends.
